In order to strengthen the solar power generation capacity in southern New York, the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA) and the New York State Public Service Commission provided $30million to support the solar energy industry to develop short panel installers and developers. Alan wechslber, spokesman of the New York State Energy Research and development agency, said: "this is the first time we have funded a photovoltaic system project of this scale."
